Harmonic Arts Schisandra

Native to East Asia, schisandra is a potently flavourful medicinal fruit revered in Chinese herbal medicine for encompassing all five essential flavours: salty, sweet, sour, pungent, and bitter. The tiny, bright red berries help the body and mind in a variety of ways.

Schisandra is an adaptogen which helps the body normalize its functions during stressful situations and increases the body™s resistance to stress and disease. It is a natural source of powerful lignans including schizandrin, deoxyschizandrin, gomisins, and pregomisin. Studies have shown that lignans may have antioxidant potential as well as contribute to maintaining good cognitive health.

Schisandra is used to assist with sleep, soothe anxiety, and maintain overall wellbeing. Other components of schisandra include sesquicarene, phytosterols such as stigmasterol and beta-sitosterol, volatile oils, essential fatty acids and vitamins C and E.
