I am a graduate of the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and have been passionate about nutrition and a wholistic lifestyle for over 15 years. I have been with Naturistas since 2012 and transitioned to the owner in 2016. I feel so blessed that I get to hang out in such a cool place for many hours a day and share my passion with my colleagues and the customers that feel more like friends.
One of my favorite past times includes running and I also enjoy experimenting with different recipes in the kitchen.
Shauna Schmid
Customer Care Associate
Originally from the small farming community of Myrnam AB, Shauna migrated to Lethbridge in 2002 where it has been her home ever since. She attended the University of Lethbridge where she graduated with a Bachelor of Management.
Her interest in health and wellness began when she started working at Lethbridge Fitness. After expanding her role to part owner, she spent many years growing and nurturing the relationships between the staff and members of the gym. Living out in the country contributed to Shauna’s love for being outside, especially her love for gardening and canning. In addition to being outdoors, she spends her free time playing volleyball, curling and golf. Since selling her business, Shauna has been more dedicated than ever to learning how health and wellness can influence and aid in the reversal of disease.
She is proud to admit that her knowledge of food and supplements has helped keep her Hashimoto symptoms at bay. Shauna is very passionate about helping other people find healthy solutions to their everyday living, which is why she believes Naturistas is the perfect place to call home for this stage in her journey. I was born and raised in a tropical and warm country, Honduras located in Central America. I recently moved to Lethbridge, Alberta to start a new phase in my life.
I graduated from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras) in Tegucigalpa with a degree in general medicine. After training on track fields and running half marathons, I began to be interested in the impact of nutrition in our life and sport performance.
In my country, I worked with a Canadian international development organization as a nutrition consultant; teaching indigenous women about basic nutrition, and how to prepare healthy meals using local resources in order to improve health and quality of life. I spent a couple of years in rural areas in Honduras, where I gained knowledge of permaculture, gardening and organic products, and how to be more connected with the environment.
I am passionate about using food as a way to improve health and reduce disease by helping the body function optimally, and I enjoy preparing my meals from scratch because I can control the ingredients and ensure that it is nutritious and beneficial to my body.
I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, running and camping in the summer and the same time, I love spending time reading books, playing board games with my family and sometimes watching series.
I have been fortunate to start working at Naturistas, and I am excited to continue learning about holistic medicine and working with some wonderful women.
Victoria Nestorowicz
Natural Living Supervisor & Herbalist
Born and raised in Lethbridge, Victoria grew up playing in and wandering through the coulees. This is where her love of plants and herbs was discovered.
She studied and graduated from Wild Rose College as a practical herbalist. Studied Yoga at the Sivananda Ashram in Madurai India. She was a DONA certified birth doula and worked in Calgary and Cochin, India at birth centre assisting midwives. She also attained her Permaculture design certificate from Verge Permaculture.
Victoria is passionate about family, music, gardening, food and herbal medicine. She adores working at Naturistas; interacting with the customers and continuing to be educated about self care, sustainability and herbal medicines. She feels blessed to live in such a great community and work with and for such wonderful people.
